ROTHES BOWLING CLUB
Rothes Bowling Club was formed and the green laid out in 1907 in Green Street. On 7th August 1945 the Rothes Burn overflowed its banks causing extensive flooding, the Bowling Green pavilion and half the green was swept away. Many bowls were washed up at the mouth of the Spey. In 1953 Rothes Amenities Association laid out a new Bowling Green in Recreation Park at a cost of £1800. 1954 saw the completion of a new clubhouse at a cost of £400. This building was upgraded in 1986 costing £6000.
The club has been a member of the Scottish, Highland and Banffshire Bowling Association since 1913. Two members have served as presidents of the Highland Bowling Association, Patrick Maloney in 1922 and Charles Christie in 1977. John Grant and John Brian have presided over the Banffshire Association. The club has successfully run open pairs tournaments annually since the 60's when entries totalled 120 in their heyday and continue to attract a very good following from all over the North East. The club is indebted to 'The Famous Grouse' for their sponsorship. New members and visitors are always sure of a warm welcome at the club.

ROTHES INDOOR BOWLING CLUB
The Rothes Indoor Club have got off to an excellent start this year by winning their first two matches. President Billy Masson is delighted with the Club's early results and hopes for continued success while aware that some difficult matches lie ahead in the league fixtures. They continued their present run of success by beating Craigellachie away from home by 49 - 29 shots. This is the first time in many years that Rothes have secured a win away from home at the Craig. President W. Masson said: "Everybody in the team played well and we will be hoping to continue our winning run when we play Dufftown away from home on the 17th December. This is another tricky match for us."
