SPEYSIDE HIGH SCHOOL

Rehearsals are well underway for the school Christmas production "Mortini's Turn" with a number of Rothes pupils playing leading roles.

On 28th November the third year pupils held a coffee morning to raise funds for their residential trip in the summer.   On sale were items produced by the various enterprises that have been operating this term with such diverse merchandise as painted pots, candles, CD clocks, docraft, mirrors, jampots, lights and plants.   Santa was in his grotto to welcome younger visitors!

The last week of November saw the fourth year out on work experience.

Kirsty Shortreed and James Johnston were among the selected members of the Speyside Fiddlers who played at the Highlands and Islands Convention held at the Craigellachie Hotel.  Delegates heard about successful projects in the area including the Bairns' Brig and Castlehill Projects.
Nicola Kelman is the pupil member of the School Board and is one of the pupils involved in the Moray Action Team Strategy.

ROTHES PRIMARY SCHOOL

Preparations are well under way for our Christmas Activities including our production of The Three Maltesers.   Christmas parties will round off the term with a visit from Santa.
Our term has been another busy one and we look forward to the new year when we begin our new themes.

The school will be visited by Her Majestey's Inspectors in January and we hope to have our work on the information boards for the Castlehill project completed early in the new year.

We received an early Christmas present this week in the form of sponsorship for our new football strips.   The Macallan, Highland Distillers Operations generously provided the funds to enable us to purchase 12 new strips.  A big thank you from us all.
