Craigellachie

Welcome

Craigellachie, situated on the Eastern bank of the River Spey, is an excellent venue for salmon fishing, walking the world famous Speyside Way, mountain biking and of course is on the Moray Malt Whisky Trail.

Craigellachie itself is a village relying on the whisky industry and is home to the Speyside Cooperage, where local professional coopers make whisky casks. The Cooperage has a visitor centre on Dufftown Road, Craigellachie with an exhibition, gift shop and offers tastings. Even for those not keen whisky drinkers, the Cooperage has something different and retails a wide range of garden furniture and tubs crafted from old casks as well as literature, Scottish gifts and accessories.

On the Whisky Trail, Glenfarclas is nearby in the South while Glenfiddich is located 4 miles South East at Dufftown which is anonymously said to be the Whisky Capital of the World.

The Craigellachie Telford Bridge is a spectacular sight for those interested in architecture while the Green Hall Gallery in Victoria Street, Craigellachie is of value to people interested in prints and paintings by resident Maggie Riegler and hand made Scottish gifts.

The Highlander Park has a car park, tennis courts and play park overlooking the Spey and is fine place for a picnic. Similarly Fiddich Park hosts a car park, play area and walks next to the Fiddichside Inn. The Speyside Swimming Pool is available in Aberlour for swimmers.
